ALLIANCES: CAAN, ANH and Gilead celebrate PARTNERSHIP CEREMONY
April 6, 2022 (All Nations Hope, Regina, SK, Treaty Four Territory) – Together with the All Nations Hope Network, CAAN and Gilead gathered to honour our partnership marking renewal of our work together. We acknowledge with gratitude, the prayer and teachings provided by our Elder in Residence, Betty McKenna who facilitated a bundle ceremony that opened the beginning of this important work in a good way. Hosted by the All Nations Hope Network in Regina, SK, members of the three organizations gathered in person and virtually in acknowledgement of the beginnings of this partnership.
Gilead is an organization that is dedicated to developing innovative medicines for life-threatening illnesses. They recognize that it takes more than medicine to address challenges people and communities face so they work with organizations around the world to launch programs that help improve access to care by eliminating barriers and advancing education. All Nations Hope Network is an agency that strives to provide support and services to our First Nations, Métis and Inuit families and communities who are experiencing HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. You can check out the resources they have to offer on their website here: Resources (allnationshope.ca).
CAAN – Communities, Alliances & Networks is proud to work in partnership with these innovative agencies and others to provide enhanced service delivery and advocacy. We send our gratitude to the people that make up these organizations for the important work they do and for welcoming us in partnership.
CAAN provides opportunities aimed to promote wellbeing through Indigenous ways of knowing and doing. One of the ways we do this is acknowledgement ceremonies like this one, to build more of, and promote into society the concept of what is known as to Nêhiyaw (Cree) people as “Wahkôhtowin”, which refers to the kinship, the interrelatedness, or the connectedness of everything. CAAN will work together for the healing and wellbeing of all that is connected here on Turtle Island and across the globe to promote the rebirth of living, learning, and sharing, amongst healthy communities, alliances and all networks.
